Google 101 with Proctor Help Desk

Proctor Help Desk students have prepared a Google 101 tutorial for parents and students.
Their goal was to make using google features more accessible.
This group met twice a week in school and because this is a google slide presentation they also worked at home on their individual parts. They collaborated and guided each other through the entire process. Their skill set is amazing!
Click on the arrows below to view their slides and learn more about Google use for students.

During one of our practice sessions we recorded each segment for those that couldn't make it to the live presentation.
Videos of students' presentations:

Noah talks about Devices in Topsfield

Sarah talks about Google Drive

Andrew talks about Collaboration

Character Traits

Mrs. Ford had her class participate in a carousal activity to share character traits about each other. The month of March celebrates the Life is Good theme FUN! This certainly was a FUN activity.

As students moved around the room they each added a trait to that person's name sheet.

The next part of the project involved using the laptops and the website tagul. Students entered the characteristics, chose a shape, adjusted text and color.

Finished projects look Awesome!

Visit to Japan

When one student takes a trip, we all benefit.
Dylan from Mrs. Kelleher's class is on an extended family trip. This stop is in Tokyo, Japan.
Today we got to catch up with him via Skype.

It was 9:00 AM our time and with the 14 hour difference it was 11:00 PM in Tokyo.
We had just arrived at school and Dylan had been sleeping.

The students had some thoughtful questions:

What has been your favorite part?
Skytree

Food Dylan says the food is very fresh and healthy. Fruit is dessert.
Have you ever had whale bacon?

Money
10 yen =  about 10 cents

They are staying in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.  Dylan gave us a tour of the room.

Tomorrow they are off to visit a local school and will use google translate to communicate.
